The excitement is in the air. The eight day countdown (no, not Keith’s Countdown) is in full mode. Even the Backwards Bush website has started a new shopping website. The News of The World reported that Harry, third in line to the British throne, used offensive terms to refer to people from Pakistan and people of Arab descent. Who doesn’t miss all of the Royal idiocy? Now that our idiot is leaving town perhaps we will get more Royal shenanigans coming our way. Frank Rich write about our eight years of Madoffs in today’s paper and our NYC snow storm was all hype – now it is just ice and Sunday slush. Bummer. Tonight the Golden Globe Awards are presented on TV. It is already a fun night.  A star indicating that Ann Hathaway had won a Golden Globe was found next to her name under the category Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, on the award show’s Web site on Thursday, but the actress told Access Hollywood that it’s probably just technical difficulties.

–  File this under idiot of the week: A waiter at a Jewish wedding who is considering converting to Islam interrupted the celebration’s final prayers with recorded Arabic chants of “God is great,” sparking fear among the 700 guests of a terrorist attack, Nassau County police said Friday in announcing his arrest. Oh, did I mention that the kid’s name is Stephen Buttafuoco.
