It is still hot and humid and now it is foggy as well in the Baked Apple. Relief is just a day away.

1. The Impeach Cheney banner was flown over the All Star game last night in SF and my West Coast buddy writes that she saw it with her own eyes. I am still searching for a photo but I guess the West Coasters are still asleep.

2. Speaking of impeachment – I think it would be easier to start with going, going, not Gonzales. Congress could start with the Attorney General by withholding funds from his damaged department and start impeachment proceedings. I’m in – anyone else?

3. The Repugnants are like those proverbial rats leaving a sinking ship. We must be getting closer and closer to election day, eh?

4. It seems the Pope has issued another dictum asserting that the other Christian denominations are not true churches. Hmmm – that shouldn’t bother anyone, should it?

5. The Chinese Government executed the head of its food and drug safety chief for corruption. They say it  is a warning sign to other wayward officials. Gulp!

6. Michael Chertoff has told us that he has a gut feeling that we’re going to be hit with a terrorist attack this summer? I like this new form of intelligence. We are going on gut feelings these days. GAWD!

Those of us in the Church who consider ourselves “militant Catholics”
cringe at this man’s determination to imprint a medieval model on
today’s struggling model. It’s a struggle for us, too!

During a recent homily at Mass, given by a Deacon, he made reference to
deliberate sin, and chose “alternative lifestyles” as an example.
WELL!!! I wrote a strong, but nice, letter to the Pastor, who wrote
back apologizing. He said that had he not been on vacation and heard
that homily, it would NOT have been allowed to be read a second time!
Bravo!! Score one for us Progressives!

PERHAPS THIS IS A RUSE TO GET US TO IGNORE WHAT OUR PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT (AND THE REST OF OUR POOR EXCUSE OF A GOVERNMENT) ARE DOING.

IGNORE BUSH’ EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE ACTIONS, THERE MIGHT BE A TERRORIST ATTACK!!!!!!!!

We’re finally awake here on the West Coast and I just searched You Tube for a picture of the “Impeach Cheney” banner with no luck. I certainly hope it was the variety that has flashing lights so that it could be seen in the dark.

Didn’t anyone see it on Faux?

Chernoff and his gut feelings—–

Well, it did get Iraq pushed aside a bit. “Let’s bring the terror here,”
and then we can ignore all the blood letting in the desert. Just another plot by the creeps in the While House!
