spideerbog1.jpgA little of this and a little of that makes for a rounded individual with lots of information about stuff that might or might not be related . Here are some of the things that caught my eye early this Tuesday morning including lists. I like lists of stuff. Lists make me think. I usually try to add one more thing to a list to play the list game.
–  Joe Wilson (of Plame-gate) to endorse Hillary:

–  The Bright Side of Spite: Spite is a dark emotion that nonetheless seems to help set humanity apart from its closest primate relatives, new research suggests. The sinister emotion that angrily dwells on how unfair the world is could shed light on the unusual human notion of fair play, and scientists say the research could help understand how and why these dark and light sides of human nature evolved.

–  High times at work: 1 in 12 U.S. workers using drugs (is it you or the person sitting near to you?) One in 12 full-time workers in the United States acknowledges having used illegal drugs in the past month, the government reports. Most of those who report using illicit drugs are employed full-time, with the highest rates among restaurant workers, 17.4%, and construction workers, 15.1%, according to a federal study being released Monday. About 4% of teachers and social service workers reported using illegal drugs in the past month, which was among the lowest rates.

–  Top 10 Scariest Animals (not to me – but to other people)

–  Just when he thought he had gotten out – they pull him back into the fold: Oversight Committee calls up Rumsfeld for hearing on Tillman death

–  The Prince of Darkness, Bob Novak was not one of the popular kids in school. What a shock!

–  552 days left in this administration of liars, thugs and war criminals.

–  Alicia Witt cops ‘Law & Order: CI’ role:
The 31-year-old actress, whose previous TV credits include Cybill, has joined the cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, it was announced Monday. Witt will play police detective Nola Falacci, who will be partnered with detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth). She’ll be a temporary replacement for Julianne Nicholson, who is on maternity leave.

–  And finally: Ten Things you did not know about animals (or maybe you did)

High times at work: A good example of our tax $$ spent but not at work. What are society’s benefits from this survey? Put this in with the study ” Most home accidents happen in the bathtub.” People were paid $30 for participating. How many people who are making $40 an hour would bother? Is the study skewed to the working poor? If teachers and social workers have a lower reported useage rate, are we measuring what groups are most likely to lie? Did a qualified outside expert without an axe to grind, review the study and say it passes muster? If somebody is doing OK from 9 to5; should I care about the joint after work? “We’re from the government and we’re here to help.” I’ll look for Jay Leno’s comments on this one.
