vcpblog.jpgIt has been a crazy week (again). Steam pipes exploding in midtown Manhattan, explosions in Iraq, an all-nighter for the Senate,  Plame-gate suffers a new blow and the Top Dog contest disappointment. Here is what Carol had to say about the contest and her endorsement of which doggie you should vote for: Thanks to all who left a comment for Kaiya! She’s still TOP DOG in our home! If you wish to vote for a dog, may I suggest you vote for BELLA. She’s Kaiya’s friend and has been blind since (almost) birth. She had to have her eyes removed shortly after she was born due to severe glaucoma that was causing her terrible pain. She is a great dog, doesn’t know she’s blind cause she doesn’t know anything else and Kaiya loves to play with her.

– Keith was in special comment mode last night as he lashed out at the Bushies, the neo-cons and their latest scapegoat, Hillary Clinton. Here’s a little of what he had to say:

It is one of the great, dark, evil lessons of history that a country, a government, a military machine can screw up a war seven ways to Sunday; it can get thousands of its people killed; it can risk the safety of its own citizens; it can destroy the fabric of its nation; but as long as it can identify a scapegoat, it can regain, or even gain, power. The Bush administration, says Olbermann, has found its scapegoat for Iraq in presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton. Olbermann referred to a letter Pentagon number two Eric Edelman sent to Clinton admonishing her for calling for a withdrawal in Iraq.

Plame-Gate continues to irk: A Federal judge threw out the civil suit that Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame had filed against members of the Bush administration, but the dismissal does not close all Plame’s legal avenues (although I am not holding out any hope for these two that they will get any satisfaction in a court of law).

Repugnants celebrate their whiteness in this funny video from Rachel Maddow.

– It seems that men in search of true happiness should steer clear of bimbos and dumb blondes: research shows men are happiest if they marry smart women.

– For those who are desperate for that Simpson movie to open, enjoy this.
