dolphinlaugh.jpgSome of the things politicians say are funnier than any political satire show. Don’t you wish Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert were back on TV since all of today’s political bullshit is going unanswered? Your wish is granted as they will be back on January 7th, even if the writer’s strike is ongoing. Prepare for lots of interviews and less shtick. While we wait for ‘the boys’ to return, check out this list, compiled by Dan Kurtzman, of politician’s utterances and how they played out in the media from the entire political spectrum including, Karl Rove, Bill Clinton, Dennis Kucinich, Rudy, McCain and on and on.

– Can anyone be more obnoxious than Ann Coulter? Here is a holiday week laugh for you from Leah Kauffman, the voice behind “I Got a Crush on Obama,” performs in the music video “Perfected: The Ann Coulter Song.”

Misinformers of the Year from the watchdog group, Media Matters

“The Imus controversy resulted in an intense media focus on the subject of speech concerning race and gender. At the time, Media Matters thought it necessary to remind the media that “It’s not just Imus” — that speech targeting, among other characteristics, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and ethnicity permeates the airwaves, through personalities including Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, and Michael Savage. But offensive and degrading speech is not limited to conservative media personalities and “shock jocks,” although they are well-represented on any such list. As Media Matters has documented throughout this year, speech that targets or casts in a negative light race, gender, religion, ethnicity, national origin, and sexual orientation can be found throughout the media, and it often bears directly on politics and policy. That speech has earned the title of Misinformation of the Year 2007.”

– Watch, listen and be amazed as two of our greatest minds go head to head:

– Good news department: Japan to finally suspend it’s outrageous world defying whale hunting.

– It is almost the end of the year and with the crowds and frenzy of the holidays I did not visit any neighboring zoos this week. I stayed close to home and enjoyed some of the regular and a few new faces (a Kea, a Satyr Tragopan, a Himalayan Monal and one of the male Eider ducks who is wintering at the Children’s Zoo) at the Central Park Zoo.

– Obama Girls Sing to George Bush: “You’re So Lame” :

Frank Rich talks about experience versus a roll of the dice.

– New 2007 Buzz Words appear in today’s New York Times. My favorite is vegansexual.

– In the always leave ’em laughing, smiling or kvelling mode: Here’s a very nice, albeit blatant product placement ad. Watch that classic again, the Clydesdale Snow ball fight –
