Absence makes the heart grow fonder and abstinence makes the belly larger. Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant. It seems to me that the VEEP to be nominee, Palin, and her conservative brethrens belief that the best way to make sure kids learn about sex is to deprive them of information and to also firmly insist on abstinence until marriage sex education is the way to approach life. Guess what? It has been proven not to be an effective education tool. Compound this ass backwards approach to sex education with welcoming every new child into this world as part of God’s great plan makes for teenage parents. It once again allows everyone to avoid personal responsibility. Babies having babies is not a good idea. Yes, Palin’s affluence and influence will allow her new grandchild to have the kind of support that most teenage parents do not have. It drains the system and ironically it is a system that the Conservatives want to destroy. If you have the time today, read the top 10 thing you should know about Palin. Perhaps, like Tom Eagleton, the Repugnants will decide this is all too much and is taking the focus away from McSame and Palin will withdraw her name from nomination to ‘spend more time with her ever growing family’. However, knowing how stubborn this group is – I doubt that will happen. But, ya never know. Hurricane Bristol could be their undoing.

Ass backwards, indeed. But the daughter isn’t all that different from mommy dearest, is she? Sarah Palin was at least 6 weeks pregnant with child numero uno BEFORE she “eloped” to get married. Sounds like a shotgun wedding to me. No wonder she loves the NRA.
As to Jimmy “the snakehead” Carville, he’s a perfect match for Mary “rhetoric” Matlin – who I watched lie her way thru excuses on the Joe Scarborough show this morning. It’s good for them that all this garbage about Palin is taking up the bandwidths because otherwise their Obama Nation book (Mary Rhetoric is the editor) would come under more fire for being a work of much fiction.
I often wonder about the congruity between teenage pregnancy and religious affiliation. From a purely anecdotal standpoint, I see many more teen pregnancies among those from more fundamentalist sects that preach abstinence only.
Does anyone know of an objective study in this regard?
I personally work with teenagers and you could not be further from the truth. First of all those who believe in the teaching of abstinence, do not believe in depriving of information, but it is not the school system who needs to be the ones educating on sex. I have no problem them teaching on the functions of the reproductive system and how everything works, but they do not need to be teaching “safe sex” versus “abstinence.”
For every 1 young person you can show me who has gotten pregnant after being taught or raised with abstinence teaching, I can give you at the very minimum 3 who were taught safe sex in public schools. That is why 1 in 4 teenage girls have STD’s…that’s how effective your “safe-sex” education is.
The bottom line is, Sarah Palin has her values and what she believes. Liberals hate that because typically they have no values and no moral boundaries. Teenagers are going to do what they want to do. Can you prove that Bristol and her boyfriend was not using protection? You are not going to tell me that there is a teenager in this Country under the media influence that do not know what a Condom is, and you’re definitely not going to tell me they are 100%
Its not Sara’s decision what her child did, but she’s not going to kick her to the curb because of it, I am sure you would love to see that.
My wife got pregnant with our first two children while on birth control. I know several people who were using some type of protection who ended up getting pregnant. How do you defend that with your “Safe sex” education? I would love to know!
