A weekly Saturday sojourn to New York City’s Union Square Market is a must. The market is always filled with local produce, interesting people spouting all sorts of philosophy, yarns and ‘isms.’ Union Square has been a hub for politics for a very long time.  It is a US Historic Landmark built in 1882. These days it has  also become an Obama Souvenir shop. I looked everywhere and could not find anything but hats, button, t-shirts and banners supporting Obama – nary a red ticket item to be found. It feels good to live in a very Blue town. Check out the photo montage below.

–  From the Jed Report: “Remember in late July when Barack Obama predicted John McCain’s attack strategy? Remember McCain’s howls of protest in response? Well, it turns out that Obama was right about McCain’s attacks. As it turns out, he knew McCain better than McCain knew McCain. I guess that means we can call him “Nostrobamus.”

–  The vitriol and hate being spewed by the McNasty campaign is starting to be big news: John Lewis, Georgia Congressman said “What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.” Read what Frank Rich has to say about the smears in today’s New York Times.

–  More on the Hate Talk Express:

–  Al Franken is getting smeared too. Watch Norm Coleman’s ad versus where the footage really came from:

–  Fall is in the air. The leaves are starting to change and the Central Park Zoo is active as can be. Check out some great faces and see photos of Ida, our polar bear playing with a blue ball in the water.

–  OH Oh – Self-proclaimed First Hockey Mom gets boo’d at hockey game:

Like Obama, you’re an inspiration, Judy. Thank you for putting all these things together so beautifully. Now, I’m off to buy some t-shirts…
