lemurlookThe people are mad. And we are not going to take it anymore. Get out your pitchfork and storm the barricade (we have lots of experience in doing this sort of thing – just think  of how we act on ‘Black Friday’). So what is the ‘I screwed up’ Obama administration planning to do? They are going to curb executive pay for bailout recipients. The administration is expected to impose a cap of $500,000 for top executives at companies that receive large amounts of bailout money. Executives would also be prohibited from receiving any bonuses above their base pay, except for normal stock dividends.

Oh how the privileged will cry. How many apartments and extra houses will go on sale? How many nannies will be unemployed? How many drivers go hungry? Should this bill pass and loopholes are not created the size of giant sinkholes, there might be a dramatic shift in the group think that has gone on for far too long. The people are angry that the mess we are in has gone unpunished. We need some perp walks to make the millions on the unemployment lines feel a little better. Stay tuned.

–  For those that like to know what happen in a short time: The Day in 100 Seconds

–  File this under a taxing situation. The people are also angry that rich folk do not pay taxes. Tom Daschle, had income that he didn’t report in a timely fashion. Tim ‘Turbo Tax’ Geithner, made some tax errors and Nancy Killefer, who was Mr. Obama’s nominee for chief White House performance officer, had a nanny tax problem. If you are in one of the tax brackets where you too might ‘forget’ to pay taxes there is an article in the Times by Ron Lieber called ‘How to Avoid a Tom Daschle Tax Problem.’ It is a good read for everyone.

–  Now that Tom Daschle is back in the private sector all comfy in his chauffeured car I nominate Howard Dean for Secretary of HHS. It probably won’t happen – but I think Howard would be an excellent Secretary.

–  Speaking of money, poor Ben Stein. After a revolt among students and alumni, comedian and game show host Ben Stein has withdrawn as the paid spring commencement speaker and recipient of an honorary degree. Critics have cited Stein’s attacks on the theory of evolution and controversial views of science. He was to be paid $7500 for the speech.

–  Yes, I am still obsessed with Karl ‘Turd Blossom’ Rove. Here is Jonathan Turley on the latest development.

– In the ‘a picture is worth a thousand words‘ check out this comparison between the last administration and this one here. I guarantee that you will smile.

– In ‘it does not get any dumber than this’ mode:

–  Steve Martin always makes me laugh:
