Yes, the economy is going down the tubes and the stock market is tumbling to record lows not seen in a very long time. What to do other than feel helplessly as if in a free fall? Well, yesterday was a snow day in New York City. The first time in five years that the schools were closed. I thought it was a good idea to roam my neighborhood looking for gargoyles, creatures and beasties that adorn the many beautiful old homes and buildings. These wonderful faces and snow covered expressions captured my fancy and allowed me to forget all about the economy (until I got home). Any of the creatures reming you of someone?

Wonderful montage- nature put in all the sepia and grey tones and your eye did the rest.

Are some of these around Gramercy Park?

Awesome, and a reminder of the power of the public…a treasure that NYC teems with.

Also, I’m glad you didn’t mean these beasties:

The question is: why? Why did they close the schools? Why were there chains on the buses? I really wasn’t very much snow.
