A native New Yorker, raised by wolves, I studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence, Rhode Island where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting.
After September 11th my creative interests expanded and changed – as has my City. After years of painting and printmaking landscapes and botanical imagery I have merged my love of animals into my art work.
I now use my camera as my creative brush and spend most my time as the photo documentarian at the Central Park Zoo.
Before I turned my creative passion to the camera, I created in ‘series’ that spanned a time period of several years. My work evolved using different mediums and subject matter. The consistency and strength of color, pattern and design are evident throughout the body of work as seen in the seven galleries on my website. The serigraph editions are small runs. The monoprints are ‘one of a kind’ pieces. All of the work is produced solely by the artist.
An avid conservationist, I have been associated with the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Central Park Zoo for the past 22 years. As a member of the New York Road Runners Club I completed my fifth NYC Marathon and have called it a day and hung up my sneakers and medals.
