rootitleYes it is Super Bowl Sunday. I am not a big sports fan. More to the point, I really do not watch any sports. I am one of those people who can tell you who won the Super Bowl the day after, but not much more. For those that enjoy this hoopla – have a terrific day. For the rest of us, there are lots of things to do other than eat chicken wings. That photo above is of a Matschie’s Tree Kangaroo and Joey I saw yesterday at the Bronx Zoo. If you want to see more photos of this adorable Joey check it out here.

–  More shame and blame is being shouted from the rooftops. Raise your hand if you think that the bankers and pillagers of Wall Street are going to change their ways? Mea culpa, says Chase’s head honcho, Jamie Dimon. “I take full blame for all the American banks and all the things they did,” Dimon said during a panel on leadership at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland Thursday.

–  Frank Rich discusses the GOP gone AWOL. Amber alert, anyone? The problem is not that House Republicans gave the stimulus bill zero votes last week. That’s transitory political symbolism, and it had no effect on the outcome. Some of the naysayers will vote for the revised final bill anyway (and claim, Kerry-style, that they were against it before they were for it). The more disturbing problem is that the party has zero leaders and zero ideas. It is as AWOL in this disaster as the Bush administration was during Katrina.

–  Here is a much kept secret. So, you know about the Treasury’s $700 billion bailout plan. But you probably don’t know that the Federal Reserve has lent out about $2 trillion since September. Few do. And that is what’s irritating bulldog Congressman Alan Grayson. Will he be able to shed a light on the Fed’s secret spending?

–  Hats off? The Smithsonian is requesting the now-iconic hat that Aretha Franklin wore while singing at the swearing-in. Aretha, however, is still undecided about parting with her Luke Song-designed hat. “I am considering it. It would be hard to part with my chapeau since it was such a crowning moment in history,” says the Queen of Soul.

–  Maureen Dowd chimes in again on those fat cats.

–  Senator Claire McCaskill tells it like it is – and she is one of the mouthpieces for the Obama administration. TARP funds are being used for bonuses, buying jets and otherwise pissing in our Kool-Aid. This is not a joke, American’s are footing the bill to allow these elites to continue their lifestyles after the elites claimed the sky would fall if we didn’t fork over the keys to Fort Knox.

–  The title of this article sure caught my eye. The 15 Most Loathsome People of 2008, includes many people who you would not have at your dinner table, like Michele Bachmann, Bernie Madoff,  Mark Penn, Dina Lohan and more. Check it out.

Great lineup, Lobo! Kudos to Congressman Grayson, I’d like to know where that $2 TRILLION went myself. We need more of these newby representatives who don’t know what questions not to ask. Frank Rich, as usual is right on and how about Maureen’s “spare the rod, spoil the jackel” – perfect!

Thanks for this great aggregation. Who has time to find all of this?

We are doomed.
